Over the years, life has taught me what kind of people to surround myself with because I know these beings will mold me to the kind of person I want to be. Ask me who I am and I'll tell you who my friends are and I hope you'll see the answer.
Whether it's a simple coffee date or a trip to a new city, the company you keep is detrimental to your experience. I learned how to appreciate simple conversations about the day and deeper conversations beyond the surface of the human I am facing. I learned how important it is to surround myself with people that will lift me up and celebrate my wins and losses as I would theirs. I learned that life is sweet but it's sweeter with the genuine people.
Recently, we've been reminded how short and unpredictable life can be. If only we are more designed to speak of great things we see in people rather than the things we disliked about them. If only we didn't wait until their birthdays to wish them a good life or their wedding days to give them our blessings.
Tomorrow is never promised but we always have today, so say what you really mean, make every interaction count and leave your loved ones better than you met them.
New week, new opportunities.
