“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
—Lao Tzu

I learned a few lessons from the wind: everything is temporary. One minute it’s there then it isn’t. It naturally moves. It’s not forced. It does not ask for attention. It’s just in its motion. It stays in its lane until it takes a turn to its true direction. You can’t see it. But you can feel it. Be like the wind. It is rooted but it flows.

Adulthood taught me so much about varying wavelengths and different vibrations between people, relationships, mentalities and ways to live life. There’s really no one way to live, to think, to be. And this isn’t a how to. I am just speaking from experience. I know at the end of the day, we are all just doing what’s best for us and making decisions that best fits the lifestyle we have. One of the key components to consistent good vibrations is learning to not get attached to ideas and dreams. It’s important to be accepting of the unpredictable. It’s helpful when you are malleable to change. The key is to learn to flow with the natural current of life. The key is to know the difference between a detour and a dead end.

To be honest, I’ve been at my happiest recently. I’m unapologetically in love with life!!! Instead of thinking about the negative parts, I try to think of the positives that will thrive from it. I’m holding on to what holds me. I’m letting go of things that are no longer there. It has only brought me a more rewarding life. And no, I’m not talking about money. I’m talking about louder laughs, carefree moments and deeper, more meaningful connections. That currency in life is priceless.

Style Story: Sorel Footwear Does Spring And Summer

DSC_0091-1.jpg

Today has been the longest Monday known to man and I thought I would rewind back to a time last week when I was walking (or posing) on the much sunnier side of the street (or my rooftop.)

I was invited to Sorel Footwear's SS18 Sandal Collection Launch and it was refreshing to see the new direction in styles that the brand decided to go. When I hear of Sorel Footwear, I used to think of snow boots in the winter time strolling through the icy hiking trails of Portland, Oregon. With their NEW Sandal Collection, anyone can go from winter, spring to even summer. From the wedge to the flats, it was hard to choose just one to style. I opted for the Nadia Bootie in Sandy Tan. I figured this was the perfect choice considering I own too many black shoes.

To style this nude, simple yet chic pair of shoes, I took this thrifted, silk, A-symmetrical All Saints slip dress with my checkered blazer. And with a touch of red lip, wavy hair and hoop earrings, this look can literally take me from a business meeting to a night out with the girls. Mixing patterns and textures will be my uniform for spring and summer. I can't wait to soak up the sun and pack away all my winter gear for a while. I'm so happy Sorel Footwear felt the same the way!
